Wilder Art - Linda and Grieta Krisjansons
Wilder Art 306 295 3777

With clay, glaze, rice paper and paint, they sculpt, draw and paint emotion and motion. Their art work is both functional and non-functional. Through their art work they attempt to express the character and spirit within animals and people.
"Animals play an important role in our lives, they are our friends, our healers, our messangers, they are kind, they are ferocious, they are wise, and they are powerful."      G. Krisjansons

"JAZZ"  by Grieta (Rice paper and watercolour)

Grieta has always been a creative person whose parents always stressed the importance of art. She studied art in Victoria, BC and Calgary, AB. At the end of her second year at the Alberta College of Art and Design she had to make a decision to either continue with art study or go home to Saskatchewan and take over my mother, Linda’s cattle operation. Grieta decided to combine the two. Now she works with cattle, and when the day is done, she paints them.

Grieta says “My most common subject of late is the horse. The horse is a great subject because it can be rendered in so many different ways. My objective is to express raw emotion using the horse. While rendering it, in an identifiable manner, I manipulate its form to achieve just that.”

“My goal is to be able to support myself financially through art and ranching. I believe one must love what one does for one to do it well.”
